Delivery Truck Stolen From Sierra Seafood In Oakhurst

OAKHURST — Monday morning at Sierra Seafood has gotten off to a very rough start, as one of their four trucks has been reported stolen from their loading dock at at 40134 Enterprise Drive in Oakhurst.

According to owner Joe Sweat, the day began routinely. By about 8:30 a.m. the 2015 Dodge 4500 truck was warming up in the loading dock to get its refrigeration unit running. This is standard procedure, Joe says, so that the refrigerator is cold before the truck is loaded with seafood, even when temperatures outside are frosty.

A manager returned from dropping of another truck at repair and asked Joe about the truck. “Hey, who took off with the other Dodge?”

The driver wasn’t scheduled to leave with the loaded truck until 9 a.m. That’s when they realized the vehicle, with its very visible Sierra Seafood logo, had been stolen.

CHP responded to the scene and have issued a bulletin so people can be on the lookout for the white Dodge truck with the Sierra Seafood refrigerator box on the back.

Fortunately, the unit wasn’t loaded at the time it was stolen, and deliveries have gone on as intended despite the setback.

The incident is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the CHP. Call (559) 658-6590
