D.A. Assigns Investigators To “Protect the Vote”

COUNTY — Madera County District Attorney David A. Linn announced on Tuesday, Nov. 1 that at least two armed investigators will be stationed at the central count location during the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 8, election day.  All other investigators will be available for dispatch to any polling place that requires assistance.

D.A. Linn says investigators are frequently used for protecting the public and assisting other agencies, such as emergency evacuations during wildland fires and work with Homeland Security.

According to the D.A.’s office, Madera County Clerk/Recorder Rebecca Martinez stated that she was happy to have their participation in helping to ensure that voting results are protected and that the vote count can proceed smoothly.
