Crash Sends Oakhurst Woman To The Hospital

OAKHURST — A three-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 41 and Road 426 yesterday resulted in an Oakhurst woman being airlifted to a Fresno hospital.

Just after 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 14, Audrey Sailors, 90, of Oakhurst, was northbound on Highway 41 in a 2005 Lincoln, in the right turn lane at Road 426, according to CHP.

She failed to yield to the red light at Road 426 and proceeded straight ahead through the intersection, hitting a 2006 Honda van being driven by Kelly Petrash, 57, of Camarillo, who had just made a right turn onto Highway 41 northbound from Road 426.

The force of the impact caused Sailors to then collide with a 2013 Dodge van driven by Brian Casey, 40, also of Oakhurst, who was stopped in the southbound left turn lane of Highway 41, and then into a rock wall.

Sailors sustained major injuries and was transported by air ambulance from the landing zone at Vons to Community Regional Medical Center.

Petrash and Casey were uninjured in the accident, which is under investigation.
