Coolwater Ranch Launches New Season Of Concerts

Bob Beach and David Jacobs-Strain – from Coolwater Video

AHWAHNEE — The fall lineup at Coolwater Ranch has changed a bit, but one thing remains the same — top-notch musicians will be taking the stage this season.

On Saturday, Sept. 30, Robin and the crew will welcome back David Jacobs-Strain and Bob Beach — Hill Country blues duo extraordinaire.

David plays extraordinary slide guitar combined with a voice soulful beyond his years. He is now joined by Bob Beach, (harmonica, flute and vocals) who adds yet another layer of soul, rock and blues to the show.

Note that passes for the show can be obtained online through Paypal as well as from Mountain Feed and Nursery and Oakhurst Feed. Suggested donation is $23 per person through Paypal and $20 per person at Mountain Feed and Oakhurst Feed.

There will be a Paypal button for the next upcoming concert, which you can find on the Coolwater website by clicking on the artist’s name in the list of upcoming performances.

Saturday, Oct. 14th is Tim and Myles Thompson, father/son duo who, in addition to their own hectic touring schedule, tour with Wynonna, Crystal Gayle, Robben Ford and more. Additional information can be found on the Coolwater website.

Nov. 11 brings an encore performance by Fingerstyle master Chris Proctor, U.S. fingerstyle champion. Chris’s intricate style, beautiful melodies and driving rhythms make for a fantastic evening of great music.

After a brief break, Coolwater will present the amazing Beppe Gambetta, the charming crosspicker from Genoa Italy. Beppe is Doc Watson with an accent, David Grier without the glasses, and Robin Kessinger with red shoes. He and his show are disarmingly charming.

Concerts at the ranch are small not for profit (an understatement, says Robin!) social events attended by about 40 friends, neighbors and family. About 20 additional seats are available by arrangement to interested listeners.

The ranch is located in Ahwahnee, just ten minutes from Oakhurst at 45680 Forest Ridge Drive.

Just a few house rules attendees are asked to follow please: no alcohol, drugs or smoking and no children under 16.

As always, food, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be available at no extra cost.
