Construction Hits Highway 41 This Week

OAKHURST – If your route to and from work takes you up Highway 41 north of Oakhurst, you might want to leave a little earlier this week.

Between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., construction crews will be working on both sides of Highway 41, from Cedar Valley Road to just north of Fish Camp at the Yosemite National Park boundary, according to a CalTrans Commuter Alert issued Friday. Motorists should expect 15-minute delays within the construction zone.One-way traffic control with flaggers and pilot cars will be in use all week, and motorists are advised that lane closures will be necessary to conduct striping removal operations from Jackson Road to Big Creek Bridge. No work will be done on weekends.

Teichert Construction Company of Roseville began preliminary pavement rehabilitation operations last week.

The project this week includes striping removal, grinding operations, asphalt overlay and permanent striping. Caltrans expects the project to be completed within 30 working days, depending on weather conditions.
