OAKHURST — Come out and love the animals this Saturday, June 24, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Yosemite Wine Tails in Oakhurst.

Among the adoptable dogs who’ll make a personal appearance at the Eastern Madera County SPCA/ Friends of Madera Shelter (FMAS) “Love the Animals” event will be Artemis, a lovable Pit mix; and Purdy, a Boxer mix.

You can also snuggle with Rascal, a Basenji; or Milly, a terrier mix. All are looking for loving, forever homes.

The fundraiser and adoption fair will also give mountain area residents an opportunity to learn about the construction of the new EMC SPCA shelter in Ahwahnee, speak with representatives about volunteer opportunities with both FMAS and the EMC SPCA such as fostering and transport, and support fundraising efforts by participating in an exciting raffle.

Photos with your pet are also available for a $5 donation.

Because of the expected high temperatures, and with the health and safety of the animals a priority, the previously announced microchipping and vaccination clinic will not be available. However, volunteers will be on hand and happy to provide information on local options for discounted micro chipping, vaccinations and spay/neuter.
