Coarsegold School Annual Country Fair

COARSEGOLD – Cougar fans, families and all Coarsegold Elementary School supporters, get ready for a big event, as Saturday, Oct. 4 is the Coarsegold School Annual Country Fair. The happenings take place from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. and include tasty treats, a swinging silent auction, and for the first time, a car show.

The upper field of the school is the site for the family-friendly event. There’s no charge to enter the fair and see the cars, enjoy entertainment, and participate in the super silent auction or really great raffle. Paid-fee wrist bands are available for kids who want to do certain activities, while food and other items will be for sale at the important all-school fundraiser.

Children will be excited to see the games and attractions including a photo booth, dunk tank and inflatables. Wrist bands for kids at this event are $5 (4-under) and $10 (5-over), with a special family deal: buy 3, get the 4th free (of equal or lesser value).

The theme of this year’s fair is “Giving Back.” In that spirit, the school is running a canned food drive. You can get a discount on your Country Fair wrist band if you bring two canned food items to the school office or to the fair. If you have any questions or need more information, call the school at (559) 683-4842.

While you’re there at the fair, be on the lookout for a $5 per ticket raffle, because the prizes are awesome. Third Prize in the raffle is one night at Chukchansi & Buffet for two people; Second Prize is one night at Tenaya Lodge & Breakfast for two people; First Prize is a set of four Disneyland Park Hopper Passes.

You can satisfy your appetite while at the fair: BBQ Dinner includes a tri tip sandwich, chips or salad, and drink for $6; or a hot dog dinner for $3.50. Other tasty treats for sale at the fair include cotton candy, deep fried Oreos, fresh popcorn, hot chocolate, coffee for the weary parents, and more surprises.

The event is presented by the Coarsegold Elementary School PTA, and organizers appreciate payment and pick up of silent auction items at the end of the evening when possible. Credit and debit cards will be accepted. The PTA sends their thanks to all who participate!
