Coarsegold Family Shocked By Diagnosis Of Fatal Brain Tumor

COARSEGOLD — When Jason Tipton went to the hospital on Wednesday for a headache that wouldn’t go away, he was totally unprepared for what doctors would tell him.

After testing and a biopsy, Jason was delivered the shocking news that he has an aggressive brain tumor known as glioblastoma. The location of the tumor makes it inoperable.

Jason is just 36 years old.

“Never in my life have I seen a family overcome more than this precious family,” says friend Robin Sedillo, who started a GoFundMe page for Jason and his family. “Their hearts are made of gold! They have three amazing sons, one who has overcome so many obstacles to even be alive.”

Jason is owner of Tipton Tile and Stone in Coarsegold. He and fiancée Amanda Lathrop were high school sweethearts, and have three boys.

Their son Byson was born with a heart condition, says friend Stefanie Romero.

“He has had more surgeries then we can even count,” she says. “He has already out lived his life expectancy. As if that wasn’t enough, now Jason has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.”

Friends and family are still reeling from this shocking news.

“I will not accept the prognosis,” says Amanda. “Please pray for a miracle. Please pray for me to keep it together. I’m usually private I never put my business on blast but right now my family needs prayers please. Please wake me up from this.”

Anyone who wishes to help Jason and Amanda as they go through this difficult time can do so at https://www.gofundme.com/help-amanda-and-jason.

“This family can use all the help they can get,” says Robin. “They are amazing, so it’s our turn to be amazing for them. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.”
