Christmas Comes To North Fork Town Hall

NORTH FORK — It’s time to get a good start on your holiday shopping as the Christmas Bazaar returns to the North Fork Town Hall.

Dozens of local artisans, vendors, and creators of delicious jams, jellies and other holiday delectables will be set up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5. This is the perfect opportunity to share mountain-made treasures with your friends and family this holiday season.

Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase, prepared by the North Fork Boosters, plus desserts by the Women’s Club. A host of raffle prizes will be given away throughout the day.

Also on Saturday will be the first day of the Scouts’ annual Christmas Tree sale at the North Fork Library, starting at 9 a.m. You’ll want to come early for the very best selection. Fresh, locally grown red fir (silver tip) in a variety of sizes through at least 14 ft. will be available.

The Christmas tree lot will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends, and 3:30 to 5 p.m. on weekdays, until sold out.

To finish out the day in fine holiday style, the Squirrel Cage Theatre Co. presents its annual Songs of the Season show, filled with the sounds of Christmas. The program will feature the North Fork Community Choir, conducted by Gina Clugston, and the Sierra High Mountain Chorale from Sierra High School, directed by Bruce Weinberger.

The show starts at 7 p.m. in Kennedy Hall at the North Fork School, and is just $8 for adults, $4 for kids, and $20 for the immediate family.

And on Friday, Dec. 4, the lighting of the North Fork Christmas Tree will take place in the front of the Post Office parking lot at 6:30 p.m. The North Fork Chamber of Commerce will be serving free hot cider, hot chocolate and cookies. Everyone is invited to bring an ornament to place on the tree.
