Child Support Bench Warrant Release Event

MADERA COUNTY — Madera County Department of Child Support Services wants to assist people in need of help to start 2018 off right by getting child support cases back in good standing.

In conjunction with Madera Superior Courts, the Madera County Department of Child Support Services will offer modifications, rescheduling of court, dismissal of charges, and/or discussion of license release at a special one-day-only event.

This is an opportunity to allow the Department to help parents find resources and remove barriers in order to assist people with outstanding bench warrants for child support-related issues.

Having an active bench warrant can result in arrest, car impound, loss of jobs and negative results for your child. If a bench warrant has been issued for non appearance, the Department of Child Support Services says to come to Madera Superior Courts on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to have your case put back on calendar that day or even dismissed, with no fear of being arrested.

Professional staff will be available to discuss options, and the Workforce will also be available to offer their services in finding work and training.

Please do not bring children as they are not allowed in the courtroom. Participants are asked to come prepared with current paystubs, identification if available, and come dressed appropriately for the courtroom.

In addition, those in attendance will want to be prepared to sit down with a child support professional to discuss current circumstances. It’s will be required to provide address, phone, email and employer. Please be prepared to spend a few hours at this event, say organizers, as it may take time depending on the number of people attending. They suggest people come early and get your matter heard first.

No appointments are needed, but if you let the Madera County Department of Child Support Services know in advance you will be attending, that will expedite the process.

Call  (866) 901-3212 or reach out via email.
