CDC Seeks Public Input As Old Mill Site Subdivision Approved

NORTH FORK — The North Fork Community Development Council (CDC) has reached a major milestone. The old mill site subdivision has been completed and approved by the County.

The CDC is now entering a phase of development. Parcels are now available for sale to businesses and some parcels for residential development. The road to get to this point was very long — 15+ years — and involved a lot of planning, grants, volunteerism and hard work, says CDC president Dan Rosenberg.

The CDC Board of Directors would like to solicit your input on what the council should focus on for the next 5-10 years. From 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, the CDC will hold a community meeting and you are invited! At the meeting everyone will be encouraged to contribute their ideas.

The attendees, including board members, will be divided into small groups. These groups will develop ideas responding to the following questions:

  • What can the CDC do to improve life in North Fork?
  • How can we improve downtown?
  • How can we support the town’s nonprofit organizations?
  • What is needed to support North Fork’s youth?

The meeting will be held at the Rancheria Community Center, 56900 Kunugib Way, with snacks served at 6 p.m., and the meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The CDC’s board meeting will be held in the same room from 5 – 6 p.m. The public is welcome to observe any and all CDC Board meetings.
