Engines Respond To Fire On Jean Road

OAKHURST – Residents were understandably nervous this evening as fire trucks wailed through their neighborhood on John West Road. Just before 6 p.m., a call came in of a reported vegetation fire on Jean Road West. Engines from Madera County Fire, Cal Fire and Sierra National Forest were dispatched along with dozers, water tenders and aircraft.

MARIPOSA COUNTY – Crews have made progress on the Hunters Fire and fire officials report that the blaze is now 40% contained. Total containment is estimated on June 2.
