Case Against Accused Killer Dustin Gran On Hold

MADERA COUNTY – The homicide case against Dustin Gran suffered a setback today according to Madera County District Attorney Michael R. Keitz.

Gran is charged with first degree murder in the 2008 death of Krista Pike. The venue for the trial was changed to Stanislaus County by the Madera Superior Court in December 2011.On Thursday, May 2, Judge Marie Silveira, of the Stanislaus County Superior Court, ruled that the Deputy District Attorney assigned to the case had committed misconduct in handling it.

“In as much as this involves an employment issue which is under investigation, I cannot comment further at this time,” said District Attorney Keitz. “However, anticipating this possibility, I contacted the Attorney General’s Office last night requesting that they conduct their own independent investigation.”
