Camp Fire Near Bass Lake Fully Contained

SIERRA NATIONAL FOREST —  The Camp Fire, which started about 1 p.m. yesterday about four miles up Central Camp Road near Bass Lake, is now 100 percent contained.

The Camp Fire consumed 3.7 acres, down from the original estimate of 10 acres after more accurate mapping.

The quick and aggressive ground attack along with air support prevented the growth of this fire.

Fire crews worked overnight to strengthen the control lines and mop-operations. Today, the mop-up operations will continue toward the interior of the burn.

All air resources have been released from the Camp Fire as their support is not longer necessary.

The remaining firefighters will patrol and monitor the burn area until the fire has been declared controlled.

The cause of this fire remains under investigation.
