Butterflies At The Childrens Museum

OAKHURST – The Children’s Museum of the Sierra (CMOS) is raising butterflies throughout April in support of the Mariposa Butterfly Festival.

Butterflies will be raised from eggs in the museum discovery center, and docents have organized some activities designed to enhance the spring project.

On Saturday, Apr. 5, children are invited to plant a seed at CMOS to raise a butterfly-friendly plant. It’s a drop-in activity, so no reservation is required. The event takes place from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. This activity is free with admission or membership.

Organizers ask that parents sign kids up at the museum desk for this activity, as space is limited. The activity goes from 11:30 – 12:30 and involves small pieces and hot glue.
