OAKHURST – Yosemite High School sophomore Joel Bradshaw was chosen recently as Student of the Month by Oakhurst Sierra Sunrise Rotary.
Nominations are based on a variety of criteria, including academic achievement, character, community service, extra-curricular program participation and leadership.
Bradshaw was nominated by YHS History teacher Rebecca Hardison.
“Joel is a very respectful young man who always gives his all to his assignments, even when he misses school for sporting events,” says Hardison. “He is a great writer and a confident and capable student.”
Ms. Hardison regrets she was out of town and unable to attend the Rotary event; Bradshaw was accompanied by Sr. Steve Browning.
Among other achievements, Bradshaw is in YHS Badger Band and Chamber Singers, swims and dives for the school team, and performs regularly for the Golden Chain Theatre.
