Berryhill Committee Assignments Announced

Senator Berryhill with Assemblyman Bigelow

SACRAMENTO – Senator Tom Berryhill (R-Twain Harte) has been nominated to serve on a handful of Senate Committees for the 2017-2018 Legislative Session, including Agriculture, Insurance, and the Senate Rules Committees.

In addition, the Senator’s responsibilities will include serving as Vice Chair of the Governmental Organization Committee as well as the Human Services Committee.

“Families and businesses in rural California face different challenges than other regions of California,” Senator Berryhill says.

“I look forward to working with my colleagues on these committees to ensure there is a voice for rural communities and that their needs are considered as legislation moves forward.”

Senator Berryhill was unanimously re-elected to the 5-member Senate Rules Committee earlier this month. The Rules Committee is considered one of the most influential assignments in the Senate, and as such, selection to it must be confirmed by the entire Senate.

Designated committee chairs and membership will be formally adopted by the Senate Rules Committee when it convenes on January 11, 2017.

Senator Berryhill represents the counties of Amador, Calaveras, Inyo, Mariposa, Mono, Stanislaus, Tuolumne and parts of Fresno, Madera, Sacramento and Tulare.
