Award-Winning Pianist John Nilsen In Concert

OAKHURST — If you’re in the mood to hear beautiful music this weekend, look no further than the concert taking place this weekend in Oakhurst.

Award-winning pianist John Nilsen will take to the ivories on Saturday, Aug. 19 at the New Community United Methodist Church. The concert starts at 3 p.m. and it’s free.

John Nilsen is a pianist, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter and one of the Pacific Northwests’s most successful performance and recording artists. Read more here: John Nilsen

Keyboard Magazine says, “The musicianship is flawless.”

Over the past 35 years, Nilsen has averaged 225 shows for every turn around the sun, performing as a solo pianist, solo guitarist and as a member of two bands: folk-rock Swimfish and folk, classical, jazzs and rock John Nilsen Trio. Nilsen has appeared with talent including Jose Feliciano, Jesse Colin Young, David Foster and Marc Cohn.

John has performed in all 50 U.S. states, toured Japan and Europe, and performs throughout the country regularly. This Saturday, you can catch him in Oakhurst.

Nilsen’s newest release, Local Ocean featuring Swimfish, was released in January of this year. He’ll begin recording his twentieth production this summer, featuring piano compositions with orchestral backing.

The concert is free; donations will be accepted.
