All Evacuations Lifted For Fox Fire

MARIPOSA COUNTY – Fire officials have lifted all evacuation orders for the Fox Fire in Mariposa County, burning in the area of Lookout Mountain Road and Foxfield Lane.

Anyone entering the area is urged to drive with extreme caution, as fire equipment is still operating in the area, and suppression efforts are still underway.

The Fox Fire was reported at 12:10 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, and was stopped at 24 acres. Officials estimate the containment at 35 percent as of 6 p.m., but are optimistic that they will make good progress overnight securing the firelines and knocking down hot spots.

About 140 personnel are currently assigned to the incident.
