$10,000 Fish Caught At Bass Lake Today

BASS LAKE – Fishing Derby Day 1 –

One of the two $10,000 Derby Fish Caught!

Pete Antonino, of Fresno, has been fishing the Bass Lake Fishing Derby since 1988 and he hit the jackpot on the 1st day of the 2013 Derby when he landed one of the two $10,000 tagged trout.

Fishing near the dam in 22 feet of water was the only clue he would reveal. Needless to say, he was almost speechless when he learned his fish was one of the big winners.

Pete also managed to catch a couple of $20 tagged fish and promised to be back out of the lake Sunday to try to nab the other $10,000 trophy trout. Another tagged trout is worth $5,000 for a lucky angler.

“We’ve had over 90 here, The Forks has reported 50 and Pines another 20 or so. Caught fish count is way up over last year” she said. “Looks like a very successful fishing derby!”
